Physiology of Sports, more commonly called simply soccer or football, is an athletic game played by a spherical object between two contrasting teams of eleven players. It is played by about 250 million people in more than 200 nations and de facto, the world’s most common sport. The object is round, similar to a soccer ball, and the players wear uniform jerseys with buttons on the front to fasten them into their boots. The game is usually played using a rectangular field with two foul lines, one running down the center of the field the other running perpendicular to the field’s perimeter. The field is marked off with ten yard markers along the outside boundary.

Soccer is a contact sport; the ball is hit with little or no attempt to run or throw it farther than the player’s own body. This is one of the most obvious differences between football and soccer. The object of the game is to succeed by scoring more points than the opposing team. A soccer game is usually concluded when a team scores more points than the other team.

Soccer is widely played around the globe and it has gained popularity as a spectator sport. There are several soccer leagues in different countries. The most well known soccer tournament in the world is the World Cup Soccer, also known as the FIFA World Cup, which is held every four years. The latest World Cup Soccer is scheduled to be hosted by Germany in June 2021. The most recent champion was Spain, who won the previous World Cup in Mexico in 1998. The current champions are Brazil and Italy.

The history of soccer can be traced back to England, where the sport had originated as a game similar to cricket. The game was adopted and became popular in Europe after the mid-nineteenth century, when the English player George Best played for the West Coast club side Kidnap Maintenance. He became known as a “biter” or a finisher, making the goal at a dime’s worth. The popularity of the sport grew and soccer became a very popular and internationally played sport.

The twentieth century witnessed major advancements in the field of soccer and many changes were made to the game. FIFA, the governing body for soccer, was formed on June 29, 1950. Today, soccer is played across the globe and there are numerous teams competing. The most significant advancement in the field of soccer came when the governing body created the knockout competition, wherein the winner would be given the title of the “World Cup.”

The sport of soccer has evolved into a very prosperous and widely played team sport that has an estimated total of over a quarter of a billion dollars in revenue. This sport is played in almost all parts of the world today. Football is also widely played among other teams as a recreational activity and as a part of inter-school and even professional competitions. It can be considered one of the most universal sports in the world.g
